The Labor Department obtained a court order blocking the people in charge of a troubled multiple employer health fund from taking any further actions that could harm the fund.
A federal judge on Dec. 13 granted the department’s request for an injunction against AEU Holdings LLC and related entities in charge of a multiple employer welfare arrangement (MEWA) that, at its height, provided health and welfare benefits to about 14,000 people across 36 states.
