This week in Know Your Judge, we feature Jon Steven Tigar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

Tigar made headlines last week when he held that older applicants who were denied jobs by PricewaterhouseCoopers couldn’t bring age discrimination in hiring claims on behalf of a nationwide class. Attorneys for the applicants, however, told Bloomberg Law July 16 that they would amend their request and renew their class certification bid.
