Knight-Swift 401(k) Plan Participants Propose Class of 23,000

Workers suing Phoenix-based trucking company Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings Inc. over its retirement plan fees asked a federal court to certify the case as a class action covering about 23,000 people.

The proposed class would include all the Knight-Swift plan’s participants and beneficiaries since October 2016. Courts “routinely find” that similar cases alleging fiduciary breach under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act involve common questions that can be resolved on a class-wide basis, the workers said in a motion filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the District of Arizona.
