Kaiser Urges Judges to Reject Air Ambulance Surprise Bill Appeal

A federal appeals court should reject an air ambulance company’s bid to overturn a surprise medical bill dispute decision because it did not show specifics regarding alleged fraud, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Inc. said in a new filing.

The filing in the US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit Wednesday revolves around the No Surprises Act, a law that requires medical providers and insurance companies to settle out-of-network billing disputes in the event of emergency care or when a patient receives care from out-of-network clinicians at an in-network facility.
