Isagenix Worldwide Worker Gets $2.5 Million in Stock Plan Spat

A former Isagenix Worldwide Inc. worker scored a court order confirming her $2.5 million arbitration award in a dispute over her employee stock ownership plan.

Judge Dominic W. Lanza of the US District Court for the District of Arizona on Feb. 20 upheld an arbitration award giving the worker about $11,000 in damages and nearly $2.5 million in attorneys’ fees and costs. The arbitrator properly exercised jurisdiction over certain trusts that sold Isagenix stock to the ESOP, Lanza said, because the trusts “demonstrated a clear intent to arbitrate” by actively participating in the proceeding and retaining counsel.
