IRS Seeks Public Comment On Rules, Forms, Revenue Procedure

The IRS is asking for public comment on regulations, forms, and a revenue procedures, according to notices in the Oct. 1 Federal Register.

The specific items are:

• final rules (T.D. 8400, INTL-485-89) on taxation of gain or loss from certain nonfunctional currency transactions (§988 transactions);
• final regulations (T.D. 8987, REG-130477-00, REG-130481-00) concerning required distributions from retirement plans;
• proposed rules (REG-155929-06) on the payout requirements for Type III supporting organizations that are not functionally integrated;
