All Internal Revenue Service offices will be closed May 24 due to budget cuts and the sequester, and May 27 for the Memorial Day holiday, IRS said May 23.
According to an emailed statement, IRS operations will resume May 28.
The budget situation will also result in closures June 14, July 5, July 22, and Aug. 30 (
Toll-free hotlines, the Taxpayer Advocate Service, and the agency’s nearly 400 taxpayer assistance centers will also be closed on the furlough days.
