IRS Extends Deadlines for Providing Health Coverage Notices

The Internal Revenue Service is extending deadlines for Affordable Care Act reporting requirements for some employers, insurers, and others providing minimum essential coverage.

Employers with self-insured health plans providing the Form 1095-B, Health Coverage, and Form 1095-C, Employer-Provided Health Insurance Offer and Coverage, now have until March 2, 2018, to provide these forms to individuals, the the IRS said Dec. 22 in Notice 2018-6. The original due date was Jan. 31, 2018. The extension is automatic, the agency said in a news release (IR-2017-209).
