Intel’s 401(k) Hedge Fund Spat Should Get SCOTUS Nod, Groups Say

Intel Corp. got support from the retirement plan community in its bid to have the U.S. Supreme Court hear a case challenging the alternative investments, including hedge funds and private equity, in Intel’s 401(k) plan.

The Supreme Court should take the case to reinstate the “consensus rule” that the clock begins running for employees to challenge retirement plan investments when the plan sends them disclosures required by law, a collection of industry groups said in a March 28 brief.
