Insurance Recipient After Fatal Shooting Uncertain, Judge Says

A lawsuit asking who should receive a $250,000 insurance payout after a woman was fatally shot in the chest will be paused while a criminal case against the woman’s romantic partner moves forward.

There’s a factual dispute as to whether the named beneficiary of the woman’s various insurance policies shot her intentionally or accidentally, Judge David C. Nye said Thursday.
