House Passes Employer Health Plan Bill Backed by Small Business

A bill that would make it easier to use tax-advantaged health reimbursement arrangements and allow small companies to join together to offer group health plans was passed Wednesday by a 220-209 party-line vote of the House.

The CHOICE Arrangement Act (H.R. 3799) doesn’t appear likely to be approved by the Democratic Senate, but it advances several initiatives some employer groups have pushed for.
