House members haven’t gotten a raise in years, but new guidance provides one way to make their time in Washington a little easier — reimbursement for some expenses.
The new rules are a big deal for members who previously had to pay for some expenses like lodging and meals out of pocket, which has prompted concerns that the cost of living in two places deters some people from seeking public office.
