Honeywell Sued Over Pension Math by Predecessor Company Retiree

A former employee of a company acquired by Honeywell International Inc. filed a proposed class action saying she and other married retirees have had their pension benefits shortchanged.

The lawsuit, filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, says the Honeywell Retirement Earnings Plan doesn’t pay all legally required benefits to retirees who choose certain optional pension formats that pay post-death benefits to their surviving spouses.
