Honeywell Retirees to Take Health Cut Fight to Supreme Court

Retirees from a Honeywell International Inc. plant in Minnesota will ask the U.S. Supreme Court to revive their lawsuit challenging cuts to their health benefits.

The retirees May 22 asked the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit to delay enforcing its March decision upholding the benefit cuts. The retirees say they plan to appeal to the Supreme Court, because the Eighth Circuit’s decision applied an “anti-vesting presumption” that conflicts with the Supreme Court’s recent rulings in M&G Polymers USA, LLC v. Tackett and CNH Industrial N.V. v. Reese.
