Honeywell Can’t Cut Retiree Health Benefits in Minn. for Now

Honeywell International Inc. at least for now can’t cut health-care benefits for workers in Minnesota who retired through a special program that allegedly promised them and their dependents company-paid benefits until age 65.

Judge Susan Richard Nelson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota granted the retirees’ request to stop Honeywell from terminating the coverage, which was set for Dec. 31, 2017. Nelson issued a 30-day preliminary injunction on Dec. 29, to be in effect until Jan. 31, when she will issue an amended order.
