Home Depot to Pay Up to $815,000 to Settle COBRA Notice Claims

Home Depot USA Inc. signed an $815,000 class settlement to end a federal lawsuit challenging the notices it sends informing former workers of their right to remain on the company health plan, according to court papers filed in Atlanta.

The deal allows more than 44,000 class members to receive gross payments of $18.44 and net payments of $10.71 each. Class members must submit claims to receive payment, and any unclaimed money will be returned to Home Depot, the parties said in a settlement motion filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
