Home Depot Cleared for $815,000 COBRA Health Notice Settlement

Home Depot USA Inc. received final approval from a federal court in Atlanta for an $815,000 class settlement with former workers who accused the company of failing to properly notify them of their right to keep their health coverage after termination.

The deal allows more than 44,000 class members to receive gross payments of $18.44 and net payments of $10.71 each. It received final approval on Thursday from Judge Eleanor L. Ross of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, who also awarded the employees’ lawyers one-third of the settlement amount—$271,667—as attorneys’ fees.
