Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Inc. once again defeated a college student’s lawsuit seeking coverage for four months of treatment at a Massachusetts mental health facility that charges about $800 per day.
The insurer acted reasonably when it concluded that the student, referred to as Jane Doe, no longer had a medical need for such an intensive level of treatment, Judge Denise J. Casper of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts ruled Aug. 6.
