Harvard University reported compensation of $6.2 million to the chief executive officer of its endowment in 2023, in line with the previous year, while former President Claudine Gay got about $1.4 million before she resigned abruptly in early 2024.

Gay’s six-month tenure as president ended when she stepped down amid allegations of plagiarism and criticism of her disastrous response in congressional testimony over whether calling for the genocide of Jews would go against university policy.
