Group of House Members Wants USPS To Preserve Six-Day Delivery of Rx Drugs

A group of 88 House members sent a letter Feb. 13 to the postmaster general, urging him to continue delivering prescription medications six days a week.

The United States Postal Service (USPS) recently announced that it would be moving to a five-day delivery schedule, and no longer would deliver mail on Saturdays. The 88 lawmakers said Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE (the military health care system), and other beneficiaries “rely on low cost delivery of prescription drugs to their doorstep” and “cannot afford to go without their medications for days.”
