GM Retiree’s Courtroom Delay Dooms Viable Pension Credit Lawsuit

A General Motors Co. retiree entitled to higher pension benefits nevertheless lost his lawsuit because he missed a court filing deadline, a federal judge ruled.

The retiree’s GM-sponsored retirement plan entitles him to pension credit for five years he spent working for American Sunroof Corp. before he transitioned to GM under a joint venture between the companies, Judge Greg N. Stivers said Wednesday.
