Nissan Motor Co. said former chairman Carlos Ghosn got improper payments from a joint venture it had with alliance partner Mitsubishi Motors Corp., adding to a string of allegations of financial irregularities put on the jailed official.
A joint investigation by the two carmakers found that Ghosn entered into a personal employment contract with Nissan-Mitsubishi B.V. -- an equally owned joint venture established in 2017 in the Netherlands -- and received 7.8 million euros ($8.9 million) from the entity.
