United Bank Corp. reached a tentative settlement in a lawsuit by former workers who say they were wrongly forced to sell the company stock they held in their employee stock ownership plan.
The parties struck a deal after private mediation and asked Judge Marc T. Treadwell to pause the case and set an Aug. 29 deadline for filing paperwork to have their settlement approved, according to a joint notice filed June 13 in the US District Court for the Middle District of Georgia. Their notice didn’t include details about the terms of the agreement.
