Former PwC Lawyer With Anxiety Revives Disability Benefits Claim

Hartford Life & Accident Insurance Co. must reconsider a disability benefits claim filed by a former in-house attorney for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP who says her “lifelong anxiety” made her unable to continue working when her job responsibilities increased.

Hartford didn’t properly explain why it disagreed with the attorney’s treating therapist, and it didn’t engage with a vocational report showing how her condition affected her ability to work as an attorney, Judge Angel Kelley said.
