Former Konica Minolta VP’s Severance Bid Booted to Arbitration

A former Konica Minolta Business Solutions USA Inc. vice president who said he was wrongly denied severance after leaving the company must press his claims in arbitration, a federal judge ruled.

The company’s executive severance plan includes a broad arbitration provision that covers the employee’s claims that he was terminated without cause and wrongly denied benefits, Judge Julien Xavier Neals of the US District Court for the District of New Jersey said in a Monday opinion pausing the case and granting the plan’s motion to compel arbitration.
