Goya Foods Inc. was sued by its former president, who says he was ousted from his position through a defamation campaign and wrongly denied deferred compensation.
Robert Unanue accuses Goya and one of its executives of orchestrating his termination and refusing to pay him benefits under a deferred compensation agreement that entitles him to 80% of his salary—which ranged between $350,000 and $500,000 per year prior to his termination—for 10 years.
