Ford Dealership Loses Round in Lawsuit Over Secret Pension

Employees who accused a Massachusetts Ford dealership of improperly terminating a pension plan they barely knew existed won a legal battle on Jan. 13, when a magistrate judge recommended that their lawsuit advance (White v. Chase, D. Mass., No. 4:15-cv-40013, report and recommendation 1/13/17).

The Framingham Ford employees claim that the dealership terminated their pension plan in 2007 without notifying the plan’s 110 participants or taking other legally required steps. According to the employees, they had no idea that the plan existed until 2013.
