Florida Land Developer Sued Over Lack of Layoff, COBRA Notices

A former worker sued Brockman Site Development, LLC for violations of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, alleging it failed to provide proper advance written notices of mass layoffs.

The proposed class action complaint filed Nov. 19 in the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida alleges that Brockman failed to provide the necessary 60 days’ advance written of the 2024 layoff to Cory Mester and approximately 90 other employees.
