Fidelity CEO Won’t Have to Testify in MIT Retirement Plan Trial

Fidelity Investments CEO Abigail P. Johnson won’t be called to testify in an upcoming trial over how Massachusetts Institute of Technology manages its retirement plan, the MIT plan participants told the District of Massachusetts.

The participants agreed to remove Johnson from their witness list in exchange for MIT’s promise to stipulate to certain unspecified facts at trial, according to a court filing. The case is scheduled to go to trial on Sept. 16 before Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
