Jerry Falwell Jr. sued Liberty University Inc. to recover $8.6 million in retirement benefits he claims the university denied him after he resigned as president and chancellor in August 2020 in the midst of a sex scandal.
At issue in the lawsuit is a supplemental retirement benefits plan he negotiated with Liberty in 2019 that was due to be paid to him in a lump sum Sept. 1, 2022.
