Ex-McKinsey Worker Sues First Unum for Long Covid Disability Pay

A former McKinsey & Co. associate partner sued First Unum Life Insurance Co. for disability benefits on account of symptoms arising after multiple Covid-19 infections.

The employee says he was forced to quit working in January 2024 after at least two rounds of Covid left him with significant fatigue, fainting vertigo, and brain fog. First Unum incorrectly denied his claim for benefits despite “overwhelming evidentiary support” for his disability, he said in a lawsuit filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Western District of Washington.
