Ex-Linebacker Sues NFL Disability Plan Over Benefits, Doctors

A former linebacker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys sued the NFL disability plan, saying it relied on conflicted doctors to improperly deny him higher benefits for neurocognitive issues.

Ka’lial Glaud, a Rutgers University alum who suffered a career-ending concussion during a September 2015 preseason game, says the league plan overlooked clear evidence of his disability, including the opinions of his treating doctors and the plan’s own retained neurologists and neuropsychologists.
