Ex-Davis Wright Lawyer Wins Disability Benefits From Standard

An Oregon lawyer who was hit by a car while working for Davis Wright Tremaine is entitled to $5,875 in monthly disability benefits from Standard Insurance Co., a federal judge ruled.

The lawyer—who says she scored in the 99th percentile on the Law School Admission Test—was unable to perform her job after the 2014 accident caused her to experience post-concussive syndrome, dizziness, whiplash, headaches, and anxiety, Magistrate Judge Stacie F. Beckerman of the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon held May 7.
