The National Football League retirement plan was sued by a former defensive lineman who says he lost out on pension benefits because the plan wrongly failed to credit him for a season he spent on the San Diego Chargers’ injured reserve list.
Raymond Woodard Jr., who also played for the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs during the 1980s, says he’s entitled to pension benefits under the league plan because he has three seasons of credited service. The plan denied him the benefits he’s owed by incorrectly refusing to credit him for his rookie season on the Chargers, Woodard said. ...
