Ex-BNY Mellon Analyst Sues Prudential for Long Covid Disability

A Bank of New York Mellon Corp. business analyst sued a Prudential Financial Inc. unit, saying the insurer wrongly refused to pay him disability benefits after his bout with Covid-19 left him unable to work.

The analyst, who served as a vice president and principal in BNY Mellon’s service management division, says he hasn’t been able to work since July 2022 based on his post-acute Covid syndrome. Prudential denied his claim for long-term disability benefits earlier this year despite “overwhelming medical evidence,” he said.
