Embry-Riddle Gets Partial Costs After Beating 401(k) Challenge

An Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Inc. employee must pay $1,400 in litigation costs after her proposed class action challenging how the private aviation school manages its $500 million retirement plan was dismissed for lack of standing.

Judge Paul G. Byron ordered the worker to cover the school’s costs in obtaining a certified transcript of her deposition, along with its photocopying costs in connection with exhibits to that deposition. Byron’s two-page order, issued May 16 in the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida, adopts a magistrate report recommending that Embry-Riddle receive less than half of its requested costs. ...
