Eleventh Circuit OKs Hartford LTD Denial; District Court Didn’t Err in Weighing Evidence

Hartford Life & Accident Insurance Co. didn’t err in terminating the long-term disability benefits of a participant who suffered from fibromyalgia and lupus after she was observed running errands, driving long distances, carrying groceries and walking without her cane, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit held (Howard v. Hartford Life & Accident Ins. Co., 11th Cir., 13-11619, 4/15/14).
