DOL Looking for Red Flags on Mental Health Law Compliance

The Department of Labor will focus on “red flags” in requesting information from employers to determine if they comply with mental health coverage laws, a Department of Labor official said Tuesday.

“Right now, really we’re just focusing on making requests where there are potential red flags of noncompliance,” Amber Rivers, director of the Office of Health Plan Standards and Compliance Assistance at the Department of Labor, said at the American Bar Association’s 2021 May tax conference Tuesday being held online.
