Deloitte’s $75 Million Pension Award Cleared of Conflicts

Deloitte Consulting LLP properly received a contract to develop the single-employer Transformational Pension Insurance Modeling System technology modernization effort, known as T-PIMS, despite claims of conflicts of interest, the GAO said in a decision released Thursday.

Lynchval Systems Worldwide Inc. argued that Deloitte’s performance of a related PIMS modernization contract for the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation in 2019 and 2020 allowed Deloitte to write specifications for T-PIMS, creating a biased ground rules conflict.
