Covid-19 Testing Lab Loses Another Suit Against Medica Insurance

A Nebraska-based Covid-19 testing lab suffered another setback in its quest for reimbursement from Medica Insurance Co., when a federal judge said one of the lab’s core legal theories should have been raised in prior litigation.

The US District Court for the District of Minnesota’s ruling focused on the procedural question of whether any of GS Labs’ current claims against Medica are blocked by the lab’s first lawsuit against the insurer, which was dismissed in 2022.
