Court OKs MetLife’s Surveillance-Based Benefit Denial

Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. properly denied benefits to a long-term disability plan participant after it reviewed surveillance videos that contradicted the participant’s claim of disability based on injuries he sustained in falling off a ladder, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey held April 23 (Menes v. Chubb & Son, 2015 BL 116888, D.N.J., 3:13-cv-02094-PGS-DEA, 4/23/15).
