Three E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co. retirees accused the company of underpaying the monthly pensions of workers who opt to receive higher payments in the years before they become eligible to receive Social Security benefits.

The proposed class action, filed March 3 in the US District Court for the District of Delaware, takes aim at the “Income-Leveling Option” available under the DuPont Pension & Retirement Plan.
