Committee Reports REINS Act On Contentious, Party-Line Vote

The House Judiciary Committee Oct. 25 reported out an amended version of the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act on a party-line vote of 22-14, sending the measure to the House floor where it has the support of the GOP leadership.

“From the Obama administration’s health care mandate, to increasing burdens on small businesses, government regulation has become a barrier to economic growth and job creation,” said House Judiciary Chairman Lamar Smith (R-Texas), a lead cosponsor of the bill.
