The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Feb. 16 announced it is extending the deadline for new Medicare secondary payer (MSP) reporting requirements for insurers.
CMS announced that non-group health plans (NGHPs), or liability insurance carriers, including carriers for self-insurance, no fault insurance, and workers’ compensation insurance, must report any claims paid to Medicare beneficiaries on Jan. 1, 2011. The date originally set by CMS was April 1, 2010.
