Cigna Finalizes $2.9 Million Class Deal Over Covid Testing Costs

A class settlement requiring Cigna Health & Life Insurance Co. to pay $2.9 million over claims it failed to properly reimburse Covid-19 testing costs received final court approval.

The deal requires Cigna to pay 85% of the difference between its reimbursement amounts and the amounts billed by medical providers, up to $500 per test, with larger payments possible if properly documented, according to the settlement motion. It resolves about 21,610 claims that Cigna allegedly failed to properly reimburse.
