A federal district court in Wisconsin denied an employee’s request for discovery in his ERISA action against Humana Wisconsin Health Organization Insurance Corporation, challenging his denial of emergency services coverage. The court said that the employee didn’t identify any basis for believing that discovery would lead to evidence that Humana’s denial of benefits was influenced by bias or a conflict of interest.
