A federal district court in Florida granted Unum Life Insurance of America’s motion for summary judgment on a Johns Hopkins employee’s ERISA action challenging the termination of her long-term disability insurance benefits. The court said that the employee didn’t meet her burden to show that Unum’s decision was arbitrary and capricious.
