Carpenters Pension Board Beats Suit Over Allianz Fund Collapse

A pension fund board that sued Allianz SE over the collapse of its Structured Alpha funds defeated a lawsuit by the fund’s participants, when a Seattle federal judge said the participants came out of the ordeal ahead.

The lawsuit claimed that the $110 million settlement Allianz paid to a pair of retirement plans covering Carpenters of Western Washington members was a “good first step” but not enough to make up for the plans’ losses.
