Calpers Names Yup Kim as Private Equity Investment Director

The California Public Employees’ Retirement System has hired Yup Kim as its new investment director in private equity.

Kim, who begins on Sept. 28, is joining Calpers from Alaska Permanent Fund Corp., where he’s worked since 2016, the California pension said Thursday in a statement. He will report to Greg Ruiz, managing investment director of private equity, Calpers said.

Calpers manages more than $400 billion of assets.
