A union carpenter sued a group of California benefit funds, saying their failure to accept contributions from his employer caused him and other workers to lose health coverage and other benefits.
Accurate Firestop Inc., a California-based firestop and insulation contractor, continued to contribute to benefit funds affiliated with the Carpenters 46 Northern California Counties Conference Board after its contract expired in 2023, but the funds refused to accept these contributions, AFI employee Juan Garcia said in a complaint filed Tuesday.
